About Steve Training and Qualifications
We as people who train or own our own horses and work closely with our hairy friends, will know there will be times when we were pulling our hair out trying to work out why certain horses are playing up or not performing to their optimum. Trying everything under the sun to rectify the problem, stronger bits, back problems etc. When one day I hired a good Equine Dental Technician. He managed to sort out several of the horses I was battling with. I discovered something which I had been overlooking and not putting enough emphasis on - Equine Dentistry! So I decided that I would like to learn more about this fascinating profession. The more I learnt, the more passionate I became. I heard through another dentist that I was now doing a bit of apprentice work for, about a course running in the States. It was said to have a very good reputation as being one of the best schools around. So off I went to study. If I thought I loved this profession before I left, I was sorely mistaken as the bug had bitten, I was hooked! Thirsty for knowledge I continued apprenticing with some of the worlds leading dentists before returning to the UK, to put my knowledge into practise. I just felt that I could help more horses through dentistry than I ever could training them. I thoroughly enjoyed getting feed back from clients that their horses have never been happier. They had suddenly stopped their head tossing and developed a bounce in their stride. I love my job and look forward to each and every horse that I treat. I enjoy the challenge as each horse is different and varied. I love to see the difference I make to the horse and for the rider. |
